Alternator Bracket

I am assembling my engine and in process of mounting alternator. I had the early style alternator brackets from a 1971 SBC that were prone to movement, so bought a later style cast iron bracket on fleabay, that mounts to the head. I only have my 1971 AIM, showing old style. Could someone tell me where the stamped steel adjustment bracket bolts, and is it the same piece as the earlier designed bracket.

Mike...If you are talking about the long curved bracket with a slot for adjustment...it's bolts to the outer bolt of the water pump.

Mike... I just noticed there is a thread titled "ALTENATOR BRACKET" where a guy posted a picture of a 71 with a later model bracket. Maybe helpful for you. Ken
