I was thinking about replacing the stock center cluster gauges on my 77 with either Auto Meter or Dolphin Gauges, does anyone know if I can use the existing senders and wiring or do I have to replace them with the ones that come with the gauges?
I've never heard of Dolphin gauges before but the Autometers i installed used the factory senders just fine. Both temp and fuel level. I replced the electric oil pressure gauge with a mechanical gauge so I cannot speak to that particular sender.
Wiring you will have to fashion yourself to a certain extent, especially if your center cluster uses the circuit board type of connections like my 78 did. However you can wire directly to the connector that plugs into the back of the cluster.
Wow I just wanted to say your interior is gorgeous. I love that black and woodgrain look you have going on, my '79 interior looks terrible compared to that I wish I had the 2 large gauges instead of the rectangular gauge cluster over my wheel too.
