I have read threads here talking about bellhousing shiming and thousands of an inch. I clearly am out of my element as I have always just bolted up the stock bellhousing and feel lucky when I get it all lined up and just bolt away.
I "assume" the shims are to make everything square to be sure the motor isn't at an angle? Again pardon my ignorance but I am trying to learn. I have been the same guy who doesn't worry about starter shims if everything works - must repent.
