Default Help, Jim Shea, or anybody!!!

I bought an e-Bay TT column for my '75. I had to buy everything above the extention (#10), because none of the upper parts were included. I re-built the whole column using Mr. Shea's papers, (a GREAT help), but now with the "horn contact spacer" (#8) mounted under the "lock ring" (#7), I have a large gap between the wheel and the lock ring! It almost looks like it would fit better wothout the spacer, but then the star screw and/ or the lock rod seem to be too long.

Any help? i can try to post a picture if I can figure out how. Thanks much!!!
Dave

Thanks, dobroman.
Your 3rd. and 4th. pics look a lot like mine. It just seems like the gap between the wheel and the lock ring is too big, but I might be wrong. I've never had a TT column, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I can't figure out how to post my pics, so I e-mailed them to Jim Shea in hopes he can look and see.

I rebuilt the tilt/tele column in my '72 last year. After I got it all assembled it seemed my lock ring had quite a gap between it and the steering wheel that I don't remember being there before. I tried different ways to get the lock ring closer but didn't have any luck. So I just chalked it up to a bad memory and that's the way it was when I disassembled it. I know this is of no help, but I thought I'd throw it out there. If you happen to come up with the answer I would greatly appreciate if you would post it.

Thanks.
I'm just going to assume it's correct, because I've never had a TT column before.
Jim Shea replied to an e-mail I sent, but my pictures didn't go through for him.
At least I can install it back into the car.

I am on vacation and don't have access to my resources. So I am not of much help at the moment. I will be back starting next weeK.
