Default Lightly smoking engine

My 72 has been sitting for about 1.5 years, waiting for interior and paint. I installed new TFS heads, new cam, exhaust, etc about 5 years ago, but have only put about 1000 miles on the car since. I recently added an RPM intake and a "new" double pumper. But, WTH???......started her up and backed her out last month, and she's smoking out both tailpipes!!! Just a constant light blue/white smoke trail that remains after an oil change, and running around the block on 4occasions. Smells like a smoking car too. The shortblock is "less than 10k miles fresh".

Does this mean I need to install new piston rings??? (I don't think it could be valve seals??) Hmmmmm???????

I had some smoke on cool mornings after swapping carbs. Had the bluish oil color. Turned out to be the choke. Once I got it set right, all smoke went away.

I wish it was the choke!! My carb is chokeless....so that takes that outta the equation. It doesn't smoke the first few seconds, but after about 10 seconds....here it comes. Arrggghhhhhh!!!

Piston rings?
Valve seals? (I don't see how!)
Leaking intake manifold?? (but it comes outta both pipes..)

Hmmm. Totally bummed and confused.

Did you everything in before you parked it? And were there any problems before or is all this new?

My car did the same with a double pumper. Ended up getting a smaller single pump carb and runs fine. You might try cutting back on the regulator and see if the smoke stops. If so you are getting too much gas.

running rich (fuel) would create blackish smoke, not blue.
bluish colour smoke indicates oil .......
white smoke tends to indicate water vapour (steam) and if the exhaust smells "sweet", it could be a coolant leak.....

To 72 Shark:
Have you taken the car for a decent run, to clear out any condensate or oil contaminants in the exhaust system? Is it running smoothly? or can you notice some driveabilty issues?

Maybe all it needs is a decent run to clear it out.

Sorry for any confusion. I changed out intake at the same time so maybe that had something to do with it. Best of luck on the smoke.
