Default Seats - comfort and performance

So I've been wanting new seats for a while, and have the opportunity to pick up some C5 seats locally in pretty good condition (one small tear on driver side) for $300. But now I'm wondering what I really want. I bet the C5's are very comfortable, but I'd like to start autocrossing soon, and they probably aren't the best for that. The A4's look nice and are probably great for an autocross, but are they as comfortable as C5 seats? (What about for women-i.e. hips. I don't want to put something in that my wife doesn't like. I saw 78vette-SA took his out because his wife hated them.)

Also, has anyone used these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...1%7C240%3A1318 They look like knock off A4's... I'm wondering how they are as far as fit, comfort, etc.

Finally, any pics of any of these seats in your C3 would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the C5 seats in my car. They are way more comfy than the originals and provide a lot more support. I installed a Shark bar so I can run a 5 point harness. When buckled in and tightened down you can't move. I can barely reach the ignition key and no way touch the radio or put up the windows. I loosen them for normal driving. I thought of the A4s also but found the C5 seats locally for a good price.

Let me clarify. What the wife hated was the stock seat belts didn't work well as I used the A4 wides and they hugged the halo panel and made it difficult for the retractable seat belt to work. Between that and the burn on the leg she got from the sidepipes before I put the Steelshields on she wasn't lovin' it.

My wife is probably right up there with the most supportive and tolerant there is when it comes to spending money on project cars when she would like a new kitchen. I get no grief (well, almost none). But she likes convenience so it's back to the stock seats in leather two-tone so the seat belts will funciton properly.

If you are planning to autocross and put a harness system in, they rock!

I have c5 seats, they are great, very comfortable. The seats you are looking at on ebay are too wide to fit in your car.Plus $300.00 is a very good price for c5 seats.
