Default engine miss

could use some help diagnosing a problem that juststarted. I was one my way home from a cruise going about 60mph and the engine seemed to cut out for a second, then ran fine for a while then did it again. It probably did it 10 to 15 times over 20 miles. There was no backfire or any thing like that, just skipped a beat.Mostly no load situations, cruising 50 to 60mph.The car idles fine and accelerates o.k. although I was more interested in getting home that getting totally on it.The miss is so sparatic I can't figure it out.I have a MSD pro billet ready to run dizzy(no al6 box)and am wondering if that is a sympton of the module going bad.The dist. is about 4 or 5 years old.Coil MSD,is same age. Everything else is fairly new,carb(750holley hp mech secondaries),plugs, wires, fuel pump,filter.Engine(427)only has about 500miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Had the same issue with my 71 El Camino (HEI dizzy). Turned out to be the battery lead going to the solenoid. It was loose. Intermittent contact. May not be the issue here but worth a check. Take a look at all your elec connections. Good luck!
