No, they have steel straps that wrap around the tube and fasten. He also includes some head wrap to put between the straps and tube so you don't scratch the tubes and you don't directly transfer heat to the shields. I think you will be very pleased with the setup . . . I am. Mine are the "Plain and Simple" design. Maybe 30 mins. to install.
