Default Tips or Tricks for Installing Complete Headlight Assemblies?

Folks,

Title says it all...I'm in the process of restoring the pop-ups in my 79 L82 AC car. Any tricks or tips for installing the headlight assemblies? Should I break them into smaller chunks and build them in place or can they be inserted fully assembled then adjusted? How do the two front bolts that hold the support in place get tightened...is there actually enough room in there with the bumper in place to get a wrench on them from below? I'll remove the grills at a minimum, other parts as needed, but ideally I'd like to disassemble as little as possible.

Thanks to all, Steve

take the grills off. remove the link arm on the headlight(the L shaped piece that has the 4 springs attached) by removing the cotter pin and sliding the shaft out. start the outboard rear mounting bolt, slide the headlight thru the grill opening so it catches the mounting bolt, and finish the install.
a couple things to keep in mind. you may want to slightly elongate the mounting notch that the forementioned bolt slides into, so you have a little extra front-to-back movement. also loosen the allen set screws on the collars that adjust side to side movement before you mount the headlight-they're a bitch to loosen if they've been untouched for 30 years.

I plan to take the bezels off, but would you take the lights and buckets out too, or leave them fully assembled?

Thanks for the great tips, Steve

the lights will come out the same with or without the bezels, your choice.
