77 Corvette Column tilt/telescopic

I have a problem with my column. I took it apart because I had play from right to left, almost like the tilt steering assembly was loose. I replaced the two bearings and tightened the housing, just below the tilt assembly, on the lower part of the column. After putting it back together, I noticed there was very little change. Anybody have an exploded view of the column...or any idea what may be the cause?

Did you tighten the four screws that hold the tilt support to the steering column? That might be your whole problem.

These three pages of pictures may be of value. You have to look at the third page in order to find the four screws and the support.
