Engine swap, 78 vette?
Also, with the SBC 350, the weight distribution is darn near 50/50.
I'm not saying it's EASY to get these cars up to par with newer cars...but it can certainly be done.
My neighbor drives an STI...and not to brag, but he swears my car handles better. His is a bug eye...not sure what year yours is.
Just saying.
If you want a muscle car, get a nova, chevelle, monte, or go ***** out with an el camino. Big block + 2000 pound car = fast quarter mile times.
first weak link after putting in a good motor is the rear. u-joints, then axle shafts, then.. everything else. There are a couple guys documenting their installations of a solid axle 4-link conversion kit (ford 9") from AutoFab. its not too expensive either, as cheap as $1,149 but up to something over $4k. But then, I'm biased (just ordered mine yesterday). Also, I'm pretty sure its obligatory that someone recommend Tom's Differentials anytime rear suspension is mentioned, so here it is: Tom's makes some badass stuff thats direct bolt-on (GM 12 bolt)!best of luck!
