I don't say that to sound critical, just to say, you've got more of a battle to turn these cars into decent drag cars than you do to get the handling performance up to par.

If you want a muscle car, get a nova, chevelle, monte, or go ***** out with an el camino. Big block + 2000 pound car = fast quarter mile times.

first weak link after putting in a good motor is the rear. u-joints, then axle shafts, then.. everything else. There are a couple guys documenting their installations of a solid axle 4-link conversion kit (ford 9") from AutoFab. its not too expensive either, as cheap as $1,149 but up to something over $4k. But then, I'm biased (just ordered mine yesterday). Also, I'm pretty sure its obligatory that someone recommend Tom's Differentials anytime rear suspension is mentioned, so here it is: Tom's makes some badass stuff thats direct bolt-on (GM 12 bolt)!
