I have been a member here for some time and havent make but a post or 2 for some questions but now I am really digging into my vette and my first step is to make it reliable so I can get the details taken care of.
My first order of business is my carb. I am currently running a Holley 4 barrel and HATE IT. It is the most tempermental thing no matter the amount of tweaking I have done with it. It is a chevy 350 engine and eventually I will get either a high end carb or swap it out to fuel injection but that is a ways off. I am looking for a solid reliable carb that will run, not pour gas all over, and not need adjusting depending on the humidity outside. I want a temporary fix that wont break the bank so I can enjoy my car this summer while I put money into my brakes and interior. So, what do you all think?
I had a Holly 650 spreadbore on my 69 chevelle that was the same way. ran like a scalded dog when it war right, but I had to putz with it every 45 minutes.
See if you can find a good quadrajet.
