Default Power Window Repair

I bought my 1974 Corvette convertible a couple of years ago and I found my drivers side power window would slowly go up and down as compared to the passenger window. So far this spring it was getting intermittent where it wouldn't work at all. So I figured I would start pulling on wires to see if there was a loose connection and low and behold if I moved the harness where the door hinges are it would start working great. So I'm figuring there's broken wires in that area of the harness because of the door opening and closing all the time. Now my question is, how hard is this fix? Is there and easy way of taking the door panel off to pull new wires in. Now I'm assuming this is a common problem with a 35 year old car, but I'd like to take as little of the interior apart as I have too. This might sound like a simple problem for guys who do frame off restorations and people who change out whole interiors in a single afternoon. But I usually work on motorcycles where everything is exposed, so this woking on car stuff I'm not really into, but I figure I can tackle this one. Thanks Bill

I think I've had every part of both doors completlely apart and while the space is tight I would not say the processes are difficult. The wiring harness is available from Zip. Take your time and good luck

Looked into the Zip Harness and the cost was $155.00, not that it was too expensive it just that it looked like I had to take the whole dash out for two broken wires. So I just ended up pulling the two wires back from the door sleeve and soldered two multi strand wires where the other ones were broke and reinstalled everything and it works like a champ. Thanks for the tip though.
