Default Inner door panel

How do I remove the window crank handle to remove the inner door panel. The AIM is of no help.

Thanks, Roger.

Roger, there is a small clip you need to remove. You can remove it with a hooked dental type pick or a wire hanger with a short bend in the end of it. They also make a special tool you can buy at the auto parts store that works pretty good. I just went through getting mine off and the biggest trick is to know where you can grab the clip, or push it if you get the special tool. On mine at least the clip will either face at the window crank **** or away from it depending on how it was installed. I hope this helps a little.

The opening of the clip is SUPPOSED to face the handle. That said, one of mine was on that way and the other was on backwards. Pretty much all Ford and GM cars from the 60s and 70s used these "Jesus clips", so the tool for it is usually available at NAPA. The tool I bought worked like a charm on the window cranks, but didn't work on the lock *****. To get those, I fashioned a little hook from a stiff paper clip and grabbed them. It really wasn't bad at all.

Made my own tool, I took an old can opener, the kind that makes a triangle shaped hole in the edge of the can, and bent the tip of it up about 90 degrees and 1/16 inch high.
