winterizing and T-tops?

winterizing and T-tops?
Does anyone remove their T-tops in the winter? someone told to do this so the gaskets don't get smashed down from being on too long? Any sense to this or what? :confused:

Mine "sleeps" in the heated garage for the winter. I don't take them off. What is the difference if they stay on in the summer or winter? I don't understand that logic that they told you. I would say leave them on, it can't hurt. Just my .02 :seeya

That makes sense to me or at least just set the t tops down on the roof and don't lock the latch. My car is in the paint shop right now and will have new t top weatherstripping so yes that sounds like a plan. :cool: :cheers: :seeya ..........

I gotta agree, leave them on. GM sold these cars and others (Camaro & Firebirds) later with T-Tops all over the country. I have never seen, or heard, a reference in the owner's manual that you must remove them in the winter. If that logic was true, then you need to remove your doors in the winter also, so that weatherstrip is not ruined.....
