Looks like my dad's stock hose has been ripped and jipped a few times so we're not exactly sure how it's supposed to look. It's the double hose that mounts to the compressor. I found some pics on here and some suggestions to have it rebuilt. Does anyone know where they're available to purchase? I found some NOS versions for big $$ but, it's not worth the $$ if he can purchase a remake for much less.
Any ideas where else to get this? Or, is there someone that can rebuild it to factory specs if some of the rubber hose is missing? They would obviously need to know the hose sizes and lengths to reproduce it.
Not to kill a sale, but when we get in a bind and need one fixed quickly we have a place here called Rinky Dinks. They will usually take them apart and install new rubber. When they come back they don't look factory, but they work. . . The price is about the same as new but again. . . this would usually be on a newer car and the look would have to not be an issue to the customer.
Food for thought. . .
You might try looking locally for a hydraulic hose repair facility and see if they can do something for you. Then, if you give up. . . Give us a call or go to the site.
I had the same issue with my 74. there is a place in fla that will rebuild your old ac hose but with the shipping and such it cost more than a repo from wilcox or any of the vendors that carry this hose, and if my memory serves me i don't think all do. hope this helps
I saw this one on ebay for only $90 but, was afraid the price was too cheap and I've always proved to myself (and learned the hard way), most often you get what you pay for. Does anyone have experience with this one? Is it any good?
