Back in the 60's and 70's when we started to beef up our SBC in Camaros and such a common problem was to break the left side motor mount (rubber).
The cure then was to replace the mount but then build what we called a torque strap that went from the engine (left head area) to the frame.
No more broken mounts but you could lift your left front wheel off the ground with a high rpm start.
Nowadays there are solid mounts that do the same.
I use Moroso grade mounts on the engine but a poly mount on the trans to allow for some torsional twist.
Summit Racing sells USA made motor mounts Anchor part # 2285 for $6.97 each and these are the same thickness metal as the originals. This is one of the best deals I have found in a while. I have had the imports break while installing.

Moroso solid mounts for the engine. remember that the C3 body (cabin) is insulated from the frame by rubber (or poly if upgraded) bushings, so the engine vibration isn't transmitted to the inside of the car.
put a poly bushing for the trans, if using solid motor mounts.

I sure as hell feel my engine in the cabin...
My rubber mounts failed after 3 years with a stock L48.
i put the solid mounts in my roller-cammed BB C3, and was surprised how mild the inside sounds, vibration were, not bad at all.
so then i decided to put solid motor mounts into my daily street driver, 90 IROC camaro, 5.7L. started it up, and holy smokes! a world of a difference, in the IROC, you feel like the drivers seat is bolted directly to the engine.
the difference is, the IROC has that "unibody" construction. cabin is a welded part of the subframes, etc. makes the BB C3 feel civilized, compared to the primal brutal IROC and the IROC only has a SBC at that.
now, on the IROC, i am thinking about switching to poly, but then again, what the heck. enjoy the "surround sound".
