Default Fuel return line ?

I think while I have the 79 apart I'll replace the fuel line with Aeroquip Socketless line. I will retain the vapor line to the canister, but is there really any need for the return line, that runs parallel to the fuel line? I'll be using an electric pump anyway & it only has an in & out. Or am I missing something?

Default return line

Hey Rat,
Did a lot of reading on this subject, got opinions that went both ways. In the end, it made sense to me to run the line as a vapor lock cure. Seemed logical that the ability for the system to circulate heated fuel not being used, back to the tank, would help keep the problem from ocurring. I am running the return line from a Mallory fuel pressure regulator, that is designed for this purpose (Mallory part number 4309). I have had a car that was prone to vapor lock in the heat of summer, it is a PIA to deal with. Needed a fuel pressure regulator, anyway, so it was just an extra line to run. Advanced search in archives will get you all the arguements for and against. Good Luck!
