Default Power Brake Conversion-Part II

I had posted a question earlier in reference to a Manual to Power Brake Conversion. I pulled the pedal assembly this week end and believe I can modify it to accept the brake booster.I am not sure how or what connects the brake pedal to the power booster. The manual actuator rod will not attach to the new Brake Booster. Also, I keep hearing to move the attachment point on the pedal to the Second Hole...I only have one hole, am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated

The second hole everyone is talking about is where the tab for the break light switch is mounted on your manual car pedal. On a power car the break light tab is mounted where your clevis pin is/was. So when you convert you need to get a longer tab so you can mount it where you clevis pin was and move the clevis down where your tab was.

Theiskell, I did see the switch. What will this do by moving it to the other hole? Do you know how the brake booster attaches tot he pedal itself?

Moving the clevis rod down will give you the proper angel for the booster. If you don’t move it down the steep angle will cause you problems. I converted over to Hydroboost so I’m not much help on the power booster part. However the conversion is the same on the pedals.

If you check out part #193108 here Power Brake Pedal to Booster Clevis that is the part that you need. The original pins used a slip on lock rather than a cotter key.

OK, after taking a closer look at my original manual pedal clevis, it looks the same as the one listed on Corvette Central. (Part # 193108) Is there a difference between the Manual and Power Brake pedal clevis. Also, there was some adjustibility for pedal play with the original, but if I screw in the threaded arm from the new Power Booster, I don't see any way to adjust pedal play anymore. I am really starting to hate this car, again.

That's right, there is no adjustment with the power brake rod. The clevis screws tight against the stop on the rod. That setting gives you the correct height for the power brake pedal.
