Does any one know if the Power Brake cars and Manual Brake cars had different proportioning valves or do they use the same one. This is for a 1969 Coupe.
It's not really a valve, it's just a pressure differential switch so if one end looses pressure the switch is pushed and the light lights on your dash....other than that, it does NOTHING, except as a line coupling for the front end
really nothing to go bad, other than a leak from the switch, a O ring and a seal is about all it has in there....then the switch plunger...
should be simple enough to fix it, really....I took mine out long long time ago...
zip and ecklers both only show 1 part for that year
The reason for the question is I am converting a Manual brake car to Power Brake. As an after thought,(After new MC and PB) I spoke with a Customer Service person at Ecklers, they said I needed a new one. I don't think there is anything wrong with the original. I was just under the impression that there were two different versions for Power and Manual. Or did Ecklers just need to sell some parts.
I removed mine when i changed brake lines,I just got new lines all the way upp to the brake master cylinder.
And a T split on the front lines to each wheel,Brakes are perfect now
