I better ask before I break it !
Gents !
Minor problem here !
1980 vette.
Re: Railing under the seats
The handle/lever to move the seat forward and back. There's a small 1" diameter ball. Is that thing screwed in or glued ?
I need to take it off and I'm about to snap it or break it
Need it off to install hardware in new bottom shell.
Anyone know ?
Running out of patience
Tks
Phil

It pulls off, at the end of the metal lever is a T that the ball slips into to hold it..

Well the 76 one is screwed on, I assumed it would be the same - maybe not!

I have a '79 and it looks like it just pulls off. I know because my driver side one is missing.

I think the 80 used a clap-on, clap-off on the seat adjustment lever.
Sorry, I figured that was the only answer missing.
I'm sure an 80 owner will set you straight.

I don't see why the 80 would be different than the 79, and on the 79 it just pulls off.

I did a seat recovering last year on my '80 and the ball pulls off.

If anyone wants to post a picture I'll send them one of my 1980 ball and lever.
