I put C5 seats in my 73 a couple of months ago.
I used the stock seat tracks, but I had to build brackets to fit between the tracks and the seats since the bolt pattern is different.
Let me see if I still have the pics hosted.

I think the pics of the adapters I made are on my work computer, but here are a few shots of the finished product.

I wonder what black seats will look like in Oyster interior? Are those seats electric or manual.

I'm pretty sure my seats had electric adjusters when they were installed in the original car, but they did not come with them when I bought them.
I assume that the electric adjusters would raise the seats too high to work well in a C3 anyway.

I just used the original manual adjusters for my 73 and made a bracket to mount the C5 seats to them.

C5-Z06 seats in an 82:
They ride much nicer than the 82 originals. Lots of lateral support.

See thread:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...z06-seats.html

A good set of Fiero seats is also a good option. look right at home in a C3, instead of something something some space alien left in the toilet of his flying saucer, like the C5 seats.

I hope you plan to cover up the Fiero tag on your seats?

Oh yeah that Fiero emblem looks much better than C5 seats...

Nice green...

Anyone have an estimate of the amount of head and leg room that are lost with the C5 seats? I am about 6'4" and worried about bonking my head on the t-tops and getting my knees even more into the steering wheel.

I think your scewed on head room. The 01 C5 seats I just installed are about 2 inchs taller than the stock 81 seats. I've got the drivers side as low to the floor without the power motors dragging the carpet. I'm 5'10" so no problem for me. Maybe manual seats would be lower

I just put the C5 seats in my 69. The car is months away from being done so no real driving test, but I scrapped (actually sold) the motors and the C5 tracks and built brackets to bolt the seats direct to the floor dropping several inches in height. There will be no adjustments, but a taller person will always have the seats all the way back so why do you need adjustments? The seats still recline.

I made front brackets like the ones in this link, but a full cross bracket for the rears.

http://www.nwhoustonvette-rods.com/P.../C5Seats2.html

Here is what I did:

Since I had the seats apart, they typically have an issue where the fiberglass side bolster cuts through the foam and the leather, so I added some edging to help prevent this in the future.

I also did the same thing. Bolted them straight to the floor with some custom brackets I made. I'd say I lost about 1/2" of headroom. Here is a write-up I did on our website. I haven't finished it but you get the drift. Also, since I didn't use the motors and they don't use any sliders, I pulled off the adjustment panel with the buttons and switched the driver and passenger seat skins around to leave a very clean outer appearance.

From my thread linked above to the job I did, I lost about 1/2 inch as compared to the 82 originals. It is written up on the very bottom of the thread.

Since the C5 seats have a little more give to them, I mostly gained that back once I sit in them. My rearview mirror lined up on the same eye spot for me, so I effectively didn't lose any real height. Im 6-1 with a long reach. You also should have a tele-tilt column fully pushed into the dash with this mod, IMHO.

Have fun with the mod and I got my seats on the forum here. Dont regret it for a minute.
