I cut my old rocker out on the driver side and purchased the paragon replacement (3 pcs) I need to weld it back up. However, the new assembly is about 1/8 of inch more narrow than the bird cage channel it fits into on the rear. Should I weld up a spacer and then I will be able to weld it in on 3 sides, or will welding it up on two sides work. I don't think there was much structurally to these, as there was only about 4-5 spot welds holding the orginal one in (per the AIM).
Then I fit them up into the pillar posts. Make sure the inserts are centered in the posts from side to side. The larger flat side needs to right against the post. I used a bolt in the #1 mount to start with.
Make sure you just weld a small spot at a time and then let it cool down. This will keep the fiberglass from blistering. Rocker repair
