Higher Tripower airfilter
Because I have a L88 hood on my 68 tripower, I thought about the very limited space above the carbs to the lid of the airfilter restricting proper airflow a lot. So I decided to lift the lid.
I used a second filter metal grill and cut my proper filter foam, now exactly double as high as original.
Everything is returnable to original without any damage.

Next I will lift the ignition shielding up a touch to accept the HEI distributor.

I know I'm missing the hose from the filter to the L/H head for crankcase ventilation, it will be on my next order list to get writ of the head filter mushroom.

I was also thinking about the K&N, but is is also as low as the original one.
I wasn`t concerned about the air mass being reduced through the filter, but of the very low lid sitting on top of the carbs.
I read a article where this was checked and if I remember right, it is the front carb that suffers most.
With some cutting , the K&Ns could be fitted together in such a way, that it would look nice, I guess.
Might be worse a try.
I will see how this foam thing holds up and if not, try the K&N way.
