can someone tell me how to set the timing? i know you loosen dist. hook up timing light to battery and where timing mark is but dont know anymore. is car supposed to be idleing and so on. a quick step by step would be helpful. tired of going to garage for every little thing and giving 50 bucs for this little stuff i hope i can do myself, thanks.
Look at the BarryK sticky at the top of this section. You can learn a lot in a hurry
its GREAT
but for a quick reference, you need to hook your timing light up to your #1 plug wire, (closest to the alternator) and then time it from there, Im not sure what yours is supposed to be timed to, but its best to just read the sticky!

Repair manual?
nutsy, u really need a repair manual. Most manuals will walk you through this - try a Chilton's for $15 or even the local library for free. We will be glad to help here with any specific questions but to try and type here what u should have right in the garage with u is not the best method to get it done or even get it right.
