i think its too big. of course you need to keep the temp down on the fluid but that might make it too low and the volume of dexron that you require will be huge. just get one of these...

- with the capacity of fluid they hold they dont even need to be in air flow.
- alloy dissepates heat.
- in your profile it says your a rocket scientist so please back up your one worded claim with some evidence ?

ginger,
I have one of those on my '74. I mounted it transversely across the front crossmember, right behind the 16" electric fan mounted to my homebuilt fibreglass fan shroud.
It picks up air from the spoiler when the car is moving, and gets (hot) air from the fan when stationary, but I reckon that's better than the minuscule cooling effect of the tiny inbuilt radiator cooler.
I hope to have the car registered soon so that I can drive the thing and report on its efficacy.
I'm not a rocket scientist, so I might be wrong about this

I use my AC condenser as a tranny fluid cooler. It works great. Keeps the trans temps way down from where they were before the mod. I still run the fluid thru the radiator too because sometimes the tranny fluid actually needs warming up. It's extremely light weight too.
I'm a Rocket Scientist, well actually an Aerospace Engineer, what's wrong with that? We're not all nerds.........anymore. Really, I stopped being a nerd when I bought the Vette back in '79. The pocket protector is gone, replace with a really cool badge holder and colorful lanyards. The slide rule is gone replaced with an Iphone, blackberry, or some other cool pda.
Bee Jay
thats actually pretty cool using the AC condensor.
i am guessing that your ac isnt going to be working anytime soon.
i have been looking for a trans cooler since i had the 2500 rpm converter installed. the trans shop said it wouldnt be necessary but i figured it couldnt hurt.
