My water pump appears to be leaking. I checked some auto parts store prices, and the stores had water pumps for the car that cost less than $50.00. Some of the pumps were new. And these are parts stores that generally sell AcDelco parts.

Can anybody give me some idea of why there is such a price difference? Are the pumps likely to be different, and the $50.00 pump likely to not perform as well as the Mid America pump?
