Here is a strange one for me...... my dome light starts flashing when you close the door?!?!?!?1 usually it stays on for about 15 seconds then goes out,,,,,, now it starts flashing when you shut the door and just continues!!! What the frak? (I loved Battlestar Galactica)
I' am not very good with wiring but I would check out the door switchs first to see if the are working properly and the wires on the back of them has not come loose.
Do you hear your flasher ( turn signal ) clicking during the time it is flashing? does it speed up or slow down when you turn on your turn signals? does it flash even with the key off and out and your car just sitting?
It is not in anyway related to the blinkers. I found the dome light control module and when unhooked it stops blinking, but... nothing works then....
What happened is I was replacing the rag joint, thus brought down the steering wheel to R&R the rag... after reinstalling the steering wheel the dome light started doing is blinkie thingie.. But I do not see any wires smashed or??? so why... just coincidence?
The dome light on my 77 just came on when I was driving then went out, then it would come on again and then out and stay on when I shut off the car and shut the door.Timer went bad.I took it out and plugged the connectors back together and it works fine.Comes on when you open the door and goes off whenyou close them.
Found a salvage corvette yard that has both the, Buzzer warning unit, as well as the, interior light timer, for ~$60 for both... ordered them today... if anyone needs these type of parts there number is 1-353-523-0900.... very helpful people... thx... peace out!
This fixed the problem, Interior dome light timer, located behind the glove box on the right side.
