Default Sway Bar Rubber Bushing Help

Replacing front and rear sway bar bushings on my '69 BB coupe. Ordered and received supposedly stock front and rear rubber bushings and stock U brackets from two different suppliers. While the bar holes in the bushings are the right size for the bars on both sets, the bushings themselves are narrower and longer than the U brackets are deep are on both sets. I'm not sure if I got the right bushing sizes or if there is some trick to mounting these. Haven't tried it, but the stock bolts don't look long enough to even start the brackets in the frame with these bushings. I would appreciate any guidance. Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue when I replaced my rear bushings so I trimmed off just enough that I could get the bolts started yet still have plenty of compression to keep them firmly in the brackets.

Thanks for the tip. What did you use to trim them? Did you trim equally all around or just off the top where they meet the frame?

I ordered mine from VBP (they came in a kit) and I did find the same thing, but the bushings are meant to squish a bit. Not they shouldnt be much taller, but about an 1/8" or so I think is fine.
