Ok guys, heres the problem. I have a 79 corvette. last week, i took my car out after about 2 weeks of not driving it, and when i leave, i notice that the temperature gauge is increasing drasticly. I had to stop the car to let it cool down.I looked under the car and noticed that it was dripping close to the bottom pulley. I replaced the water pump yesterday and it didn't change, I raised the car again and took a closer look, and i saw little droplets falling from a bolt that attaches some sort of steel rod to the engine block. Im not sure what it is. I know for a fact it is coolant leaking. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

Gosh your description is SOOO bad - are you seriously asking for help? Please tell us where the leak is, or post a picture. Saying it's a 'steel rod to the engine block' is meaningless.
You don't mention the year of the car or even what engine it is.
It would depend on if that steel rod's bolt goes into a water jacket. If so, you will need to place some rtv sealant to the end of the bolt and then bolt it in.
My 81 has a steel rod that connects to the top of the manifold near the carb on the passenger side with the other end attaching to the AC compressor.
Also your thermostat may also be sticking so you may want to replace that as well. Shouldn't cost too much.
im not really sure what the water jacket is.... The rod is attatched to the engine block near the front of the engine near the top of the bottom pulley. im going to try and get some pictures of it. thanks for the help
