I don't think the pins are long enough to do this. You might try to modify them.
I would also worry about the top not being as snug on the deck lid. When you crank the nuts down the tops are pretty solid.
It would be horrible to remove the hardtop and have a groove worn in your paint from it moving. (bad enough having the lines in the paint the weatherstrips leave).
