Default Painting with or without bumper covers installed

I'm about to install new urethane bumper covers. Should I wait to do this until the entire car is painted? Or, should I install the bumper covers before the car is painted? Thanks!

i would install themm first to test fit them so you know everyting is going to line up. you can paint them on or off the car. i guess it's up to what the painter decides

You want to install them first to see if they even fit. This can be a trying experience especially the rear bumper. You will need two people if possible as it makes it a little easier. When you get them where they look best loosen the bolts a little to get in some shims made out of cardboard. The cardboard shims will allow the painter to get a little paint between the bumper and the body. You don't want to pay for a paint job to turn around and scratch the bumpers. Be careful not to over tighten the bolts. they just need to be snug.
Good Luck
