Distributor with Tach drive????

Distributor with Tach drive????
Im a rookie and i need your help.
do u guys know if a 78 corvette has the Distributor with Tach drive???? or thats only for the older ones or all 78 corvettte distributor are different.

78 should have an HEI type distributor when it was stock. The tach drive are for the older vettes. I am not sure when Chevy phased those type distributors out.

i really hope so.... i havent had a chance to check my distributor... i hope its the regular hei.... cause the one with tach drive is so expensive. i got a 78

I believe 74 was the last year to use the tach drive distributor.

74 was the last year for tach drive. 75 went to HEI and electronic tachs.

All ignition dragonfire model HEI with tach drive
119 bucks and has worked for everyone on this board (myself included) that has tried it very well.
