fuel pump wont pump

fuel pump wont pump
Brand new fuel pump on the car,ran fine for a few minutes earlier in the week,but today no fuel.so I took off line pre pump and plenty of gas running with gravity but no gas on outlet side of pump. The motor is fresh with less than an hour on it.Am i missing something or do I have a bad brand new pump?? Thanks for any advice.

When you replaced the pump did the pump rod fall out of the engine? I'm sure you have checked this already but this is the only thing I can think of if you have gas going to the pump but not up to the carb.

I once had a problem with a pump because the rubber hose connected to it must not have been making a good seal. Mine was on a Blazer and it had a flexible hose so I just cut off an inch to get to a fresh piece of hose and it worked fine.
