i am trying to fix some of the problems with a 69 i recently bought.
tonites project is try to locate the wires that plug into the back up light switch, 4 speed.
the switch is on the tranny with the wires and connector plug, no attempt was ever made to connect it to a harness it seems.
this car has a new wiring thru out and i cant seem to find the connector that plugs into the backup light switch. i have looked all over the fire wall for a connector with pink and green wires and i dont see it anywhere.
it gets power for the backup lights from the turn signal Flasher, the "small pink wire".
goes thru the firewall down to the switch, and back out to the backup lights.

well thanks a lot. i looked there and there is no connector on my car coming out of that grommet, just the tach cable and the oil pressure line. i am wondering if the "professionals" who wired this car forgot to put this connector thru the firewall? could it be stuffed up under the dash somewhere? i have the gauge panel out so now might be a good time to look. i cant seem to find it uner the dash either, any tips on where i should look for it?

thanks mr wilcox, your info is very helpful.
Find where the radio connector comes out of the harness - radio connector is 3 wire (yellow, gray, black) the 2 wire back up switch connector (pink, green) should be the next set of wires coming out of harness
thanks a lot gentlemen, i found the connector with your help, it was shoved up under the fiber optic lights. it was easy to find when i knew where to start looking. i checked the switch and its all there, connecting rod dealio and everything. turn the key and i get juice to the pink wire.
i think i will put some heat shrink on the wires coming from the switch as it is close to the exhaust.
i will hook it up next time and cross my fingers and hope it all works. hopefully there will be bulbs in there.
