Foul odor

Hi I am new to this forum. I have an '82 collectors edition that I found cheap. Rebuilt number matching motor. New paint. It's just missing a few little pieces. My problem is the interior it is in good shape but when the car arrived it had a foul odor inside. Body odor stench is coming from the car. I have left the windows down for a couple weeks and dumped about a gallon of Frebreeze but the smell is still there. Scrubbed the carpets to. I am hoping for some ideas other then gas and fire.

You might just replace the carpet and scrub the seats down with a good leather cleaner.

Does it still have the catalityc converts on?
I have heard that those get smelly, more like rotten eggs.

You may have to hire a detail shop to get it out. Some have experience with stubborn odors and have better/stronger specialty chemicals than you probably have. The Mythbusters had trouble getting their smell out.....
