I have chambered exhaust on the car now, and basically, I've grown tired of it. I've been looking at stock exhaust systems from the manifold back. Corvette Central seems to have the best price on an (at least) aluminized set-up. Anybody else have any suggestions, or am I overlooking any supplier?
i bought a stainless steel exhaust system from "stainless works" and am very pleased with the product...(i also bought their stainless mufflers) which have a very throaty sound to them...
my car (also a 74) is just now in the last phases of its completion - so these pics (before the body was dropped back on the frame) - should give you the best idea of what you'll get...ive also provided their link...
my reasoning for going stainless were numerous - 1. the car is basically a show car - so i wanted the exhaust to look good for a long time 2. im in florida - no need to say more 3. everything is mandrel bent....
I have a 74 with chambered headers and straight pipes.. Not sure if you are running mufflers or not, but mine sounds excellent. I have heard lots of compliments on it, and at a show on Saturday was told by a couple other C3 guys that its just the right amount of "loudness".
I think the chambered with mufflers would be just a little too quiet/not quote aggressive enough. Just something you might try if you do still have them on there.
