So I took a closer look at the passenger side door of my project today and noticed there are no screw holes for the side view mirror. I cannot even see any sign of the holes being filled in, and the car has been stripped down to the original paint. Did they release any of these cars that only had a side view mirror on the driver's side?
so why would they just put one mirror on a car? everthing else has two just wondering
I heard a State Trooper once say why they only put (standard) driver side mirrors. He said it was because back in the '50s 60's and 70's, interstate roads were as prominent as they are today. Mostly the roads were two lanes, and on 2 lane roads, there was never anybody driving on your right side (unless he was driving on the shoulder and drunk), so the inside mirror sufficed as well as the driver side mirror. I guess, in other words, cars that were going to pass you would do it from the left side.....
