Default Pushrod Length??

Need some input from some of the folks more experienced with valve geometry than me. I did a Vortec swap recently and never checked my pushrod length during the process. I purchased some new stock length pushrods and using self aligning rockers. I decided to go ahead and check it by looking at the rocker arm contact pattern on top of the valve stem. I removed the intake rocker on #1 and covered the valve stem tip with black sharpie ink. Then. reinstalled the rocker and set lash. Bumped the motor over a few times them removed the rocker and looked at the contact pattern. Here's what I got.

It seems the contact pattern is in the middle of the stem and thats where it should be correct?

As far as i can see it looks good. I am used to rolller lifters and the pattern is narrower but yours looks right in the center just wider the roller lifters.

..looks good however for real world checking, buy a manley length checker and dial it in...super easy to use and beneficial with new heads as the valves are very close in spring hight ......

pattern is AOK

And, I applaud you for NOT being a roller-tip lemming. Most street cars do not need any sort of rollerized tip ... they seldom add anything significant to a street car ... and rollerized tips often cause problems for novices who don't properly align rollerized tips w/ valve tips. I'll bet dollars to donuts your rockers & valves will give good, carefree & quiet service for long, long time.
