Default pcv

I`ve got a pcv valve on one side connected to the base of the carb. On the other side I have a breather, I get oil out of the base of the breather onto the valve cover, not a lot but it is messy. Isit ok to have 2 pcv valves and t it into the carb? is there something else I can do to stop the leak?

Among other possible remedies, you can try either installing a baffled grommet at the breather, stuffing the base of the breather with steel wool, a new/improved breather, or suggest you go back to the OEM "intake" tube and filter system which connects to the carb breather base. In any case, do NOT plug this important hole with another PCV or you will simply introduce additional problems rather than solve anything. Oh, and please don't get the PCV vs. no PCV debate going again. If you have such questions just do a search and you'll see why...

The grommet is baffled. I don`t want a debate. I just don`t want oil on the valve cover. What is a new and improved breather? Thanks for the advice on dual pcv valves I really thought that would be my answer.

Just observing, without knowing what you have, that there might be a number of breather and grommet/mount options which could possibly prove better than what you have. FWIW, you've got to allow for the crankcase to vent in or out separately from the pcv, given the way it functions, but IMHO having a crankcase breather open to the atmosphere somewhat defeats the green purposes of a pcv system, but that's another story.

You know, you could have an excessive blow by or faulty pcv issue, with the oily mess only a symptom rather than the real issue...

check closely the "baffled" pcv grommet to be sure none of the flash moulded rubber is actually pinching off the breathing capacity of the grommet.....i see this a lot and have to cut away the excess rubber with an exacto blade.....
