Default alien gauges

may be a silly question but has anyone ever used speedo and rpm gausges from another car other than from a corvette and installed them in their corvette?

what should be considered in such an attemp, i.e. calibration and compatibility?

Most any cable driven speedo would not require calibration. a GM V8 electronic tach likewise would not require calibration. All that being said, I don't know of another car that is close in size-except possibly '70-81 Camaro or Firebird. You would have to swap the backs and just use the speedo or tach unit. As plentiful as they are, why?

Many have swapped to Automater or other aftermarket gauges. I wouldn't-but that's just me.

I agree with MARKDTN...maybe I'll just change the needles and use a different color back plate.
