Default 1" cog drive question

i talked to john at black mountain precision today and i am approaching things a little diffrently i have a 72 and im changing over to a big block. I have absolutly nothing for the front of this motor. i am planning in an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. that being said he mentioned running a long water pump and going with a type 2 powersteering pump and mounting the altermator and PS pump level and in front of the valve covers.like this.

what are you guys thoughts on this set up im sure he can provide the system im worried about clearences on the front of the motor however i dont want to have to cut the frame either. I found out the pully on the long water pump extends 6 3/4 inches from the face of the timing cover and the balancer pully extends 3 3/4 inches from the face of the balancer

with me wanting to power steering and in talking to john he said the last time he tried to use a short water pump on a vette the clearances were super tight on the frame crossmember and additional machining was necessary on the pullies to get it to work. there was also a problem with the power steertin lining up. the guys had to machine 1/2 inch off there pullie i think. he has a 1"set up that might work i just need to figure out the power steering bracket. I was hopeing the electric fans would free up enough room to run the kit that mounts inward but i know its tight already, i just dont have a BB set up to measure up with. I just put the engine in last weekend and have not even put the body back on yet so im still in the planning stages i just think this set up looks awsome but dont want a nightmare either

Just a suggestion, I'd look into Jones' cog drive kit and a standard (for BB C3's) short water pump so you wouldn't necessarily need to monkey around with re-inventing the wheel, as it were.

Those are some nice kits. but that race set up really cost im just looking int this for a more show aspect. Thats why i like the billit set up. the kit i need through him if i go with a long water pump would be $499 and a short would be around 450 but id have to add a few bucks for some machine work.
