cheapest method of getting a dyno result would be at a dyno shootout - usually organised by a car club at a local tuner's workshop.
But why do you want a dyno test?
Are you planning some mods and want a baseline?
Are you simply keen to know what you have for discussion at the pub?
Remember, dyno results can and do vary a lot. Any operator can give you a number which will put a smile on your face, or leave you dejected with reality.
Better option is go to a drag strip and get a real 1/4 mile time slip.
60ft time, 1/8 mile time and speed, 1/4 mile time and speed. Much more fun, and the numbers are real.
Then as you do mods, you can assess the real world advantages of the whole car.... and that's what really matters.
Dynos have their place, but don't get hung up on the number you get.
The real question is where are you located? There are thousands of dyno shops in the US with different types of setups (Dynojet, Mustang, Dynomite, Dyno Dynamics, etc.). They all read differently and are most importantly they are tuning tools - they don't necessarily accurately measure your power. You can read 300rwhp on a Mustang dyno and then head over to a Dynojet and put down 365rwhp. Did you gain 65hp from the drive over? That would be nice but probably not. I know of a few in the Northeast if you want the info.
Also, money can range anywhere from $50 for a few pulls (just to measure power, A/F ratios, etc.) to a few hundred+ for tuning sessions.
