Wanting to convert to a power antenna on a '74.I've seen the conversion kit offered by Eckler's.Is this a good one/are there others?Any input appreciated...
Any aftermarket power antenna is fine. Do you want fully automatic or semi automatic.
Fully = up and down with radio on and off switch
Semi = gives you switch to adjust the height of the antenna. does not work with radio on and off switch.
Are you using factory radio? If so you have to open it up and add a wire for the power antenna in the case of fully automatic. If you are using an aftermarket radio most have a power antenna lead.
It's a good kit. $184.00 is high. You can buy that antenna for 100.00 all day long. Harada used to make them now I think its Metra. Check Target or Jeggs.
Mine was $95 from Yesterday's Corvette in Colorado Springs in 2006 and has worked flawlessly since. It only goes up when I switch to Tuner, which only happens when my iPod crashes...
