1977 L-82 Plug Gap - Please
Hi,
I just bought a set of plugs and the store said to gap them at 045. The manual that I have (Corvette 66-82 Shop Manual, not Haynes) says 035. I have an HEI dist.
Thanks
Jack

Hello,
Higher voltage ignition equals larger gap on the plug. Go with the .045, better gas mileage and some extra power.
Enjoy the new plugs.

0.045" if you've got HEI
It false to state that a larger gap will give better fuel economy or more power, more bad science. If the mixture ignites a bigger or hotter spark won't make it burn faster, hotter or cleaner.
