Default wiring harness

Its time to do the wiring harness. I've decided to stop spending endless hours trying to repair the hacked up mess I inherited.I need some feed back from you guys on who has the best harnesses. The plan is to replace the dash, engine and forward lamp harness to start. Who has used what and why is it better than the other guys.

take pictures of the old wire harness especially dash wire harness.

I had a hack of a time getting the dash to fit back into place after I installed the new harness.

Do not throw the old harness away until EVERYTHING is back togather. I referred back to the memory of the old harness many times.

I even labeled some of the engine compartment leads before installation. some cars used some leads other do not. such as A/C vsnon-A/C cars

Letric Limited. Fit was perfect. Use tape to mark what the old connectors came off of so you can get the new one plugged back in the correct place. The hard part is routing the harness over the speedo/tack and down to the center console. Lots of wires in a small space. Take your time and you won't have any problems. It is rather fun to do.

I have to thank everyone for the input and tips. The electrical on this car is scary to say the least, I have a couple wiring diagrams for this car (including the good one from a Forum menber here), there are just too many things that don't add up. I'm affraid if use the exsisting harnesses as a guild I'll be sunk. I need to get the correct plugs and wire ends as close to what they used when assembling at GM. This car was a basket case when I bought a few years ago as project and as many of you know, its becomes an obsession.
I am glad to be a part of this Forum. I've gottem more questions answered and definately saved a lot of time and money over the coarse of this project.

Thanks

I think Dr Rebuild has a wiring schematic with colors and pictured plug ends to aid in figuring what things are

Wiring harness replacement is easy. When I did mine, I was kinda scared when I first tried to fire her up. The damn thing started right up and idled like never before. You will be happy...

I bought my harnesses from Last Detail in atlanta. They had the best prices at the time and they use Letric Limited harnesses.

Thank you!

I should have the missing links up by weeks end! These are part of the new sale I've been working on. I just turned the harness links on early!

Earlier this year Willcox did me right on the rear lamp harness for my 68. No need to waste time with others...
