Default Got my red-top Optima. How'd you mount yours?

And it came with a new hold-down. This piece of plastic is shaped to go around the big round, middle cell. Problem is that the battery isn't a perfect fit for this setup in the C3.

The boss where the hold down bolt is, is raised up off the floor of the battery box a half inch or so. Even though the new hold down does wrap around the middle cell nicely, it cannot be tightened down all the way - the thing bottoms out before hitting the battery.

I'm thinking of filing the original hold down with a radius to go around that round part of the battery. How did you mount your Optima battery?

I flipped the factory hold down over. Try that.
Worked for me.
