I know something was posted about this before but Im trying to find out which companies insure the older style vettes resonably. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Depends upon how you use the car. For my daily drivers I use State Farm. For the "collection" I use Hagerty's. Cannot drive the collection to work and have other restrictions but the savings is worth it. SF has about the best rates I have seen for drivers.
I am with Hagerty, and have no mileage limitations. The biggest thing is that it is not your daily driver, and is kept in a secure location. $125/year
Most importantly is that it is AGREED VALUE insurance. The insurance is ZERO DEDUCTABLE and pays the value that YOU set on the car in the event of a total loss.
Hey Alwyn678, what kind of coverage do you have. I called alstate and it is around $800/year for pip/pd uninsured motorist and comprehensive.. and they pay book value(around $5000.00 for a 77) if your car is stolen or totaled.
I have State Farm classic for the Vette. $ 120.00 per year, full coverage with a 12.5K agreed amount. There are some restrictions, like milage per year, and how the car is used. Each year, I have to take it to the agent, and have pictures taken of it and varify the milage.
What about if my ordometer hasn't moved in ~10 years?
I have State Farm for my Z28, pickup, the wife's car, and my house; but they wanted me to get an appraisal before they would insure the Corvette. I keep meaning to call Hagerty....
I have Amica on my 73 now. I sent them an appraisal, then got a stated value policy. It's expensive (massachusetts)
At least it will cover me.... not like the horrible coverage and service of Commerce insurance. They lied to me and then refused to cover my loss on the 76 when it was totalled. :mad :mad
