Noticeable, but not excessive. This is compared to a hydraulic cam, of course. If you were standing beside my car listening to it, you may not notice it; but if a hyd. cammed car were there, too, then you'd notice the difference. This is with a solid roller cam.
Noise? Is that noise I’m hearing . . . its music to me!
Personally I like the sound! The cam, lifter and rocker combo will determine how much noise. I’m kind of old school and like the old sewing machine sound on my 62. The newer roller camshafts are very quite compared to the old stuff.
Dual exhaust of my solid lifter pieces is my stereo as the 'wonderbar' jumped ship several years ago. But there not that loud anyway especially with the hood down,...And I wouldn`t have it any other way..Hell, thats the reason why I drive Vettes. The intended way....
This Vette would not sound the same if it didn`t have my OE solid cam with the capacity to wind up well over 7,000 rpms. You cant make a hydraulic cam run and sound that good, hydraulics just dont have the kahunnas. Sounds and speed some would kill for....
I certianly here them at idle but not when driving. Just the exhaust sound. As long as the lash is set correctly I would not worry about the noise. It is music to me.

That sound is unmistakable, like Gordon said I can hear them at idle that's about it, the exhaust is too loud......
Nothing says you can't check them.
I don't know how much trouble it is to pull valve covers or the hot/cold specs or the roller tip/standard or how fat your fingers are on the feeler gage.
