1980 headers that will fit?
i recently purchased the under car chambered exhaust pipes kit from midamerica item # 618-973
i do not have the stock manifolds any more
does any one know what headers will hook up to this exhaust kit?
please help me out,,,thanks tony

I assume your car is not an L82 requiring the air injection be plumbed into the exhaust so this makes things a bit easier. Did the new exhaust kit come ready to connect to stock manifolds and if so is it 2 inch or 2.5 inch
Here's my input after owning an 80 for the last 25 years.
The stock type rams horn manifolds used on the mid 70's and up cars had a 2 inch outlet which was too restrictive. I prefer the earlier ones that had 2.5 inch outlets and work well in keeping exhaust heat lower, not burning plug wires and getting a near stock look.
Use shorty headers is an option as they exit similar to stock exhaust. requires customer connection to exhaust system.
Long tube headers give more performance put you get the headaches of exhaust leaks and heat plus you need a custom connection.
After using all of the above I went with Sanderson cast iron headers. Close to flow numbers of headers without the heat and noise. still requires custom connection to exhaust.

i think the kit will hook up directly to stock manifolds,the thing is that i would have to purchase them,,,my vette came with after market headers that rusted out and split open,,,so i have to choose what to do..
